How to use HerbLens
Point your camera at any plant to name it, then open its whole story. Here's everything you can do, in a couple of minutes.

Identify a plant from a photo
Tap Identify, then use your camera or pick from your gallery. You can add up to five photos of the same plant. A close-up of a leaf, the flower, and the whole plant give the sharpest match. HerbLens names the species and tells you how confident it is.

Open the plant's full page
Every match opens a living encyclopedia page: what it is at a glance, its traditional benefits and everyday uses, what it pairs and substitutes with, a bit of history, and honest safety notes. Photos and credits are included for each plant.

Explore the library of 1,200+ plants
You don't need a photo to browse. Open Plants to search 1,200+ herbs and healing plants by common or scientific name, or just scroll and discover something new.

Browse by category
Not sure where to start? Categories groups plants two ways: by where you'll find them (kitchen, garden, foraged) and by what they're traditionally reached for (digestive, skin, sleep, immune, and more).

Save your favorites
On any plant page, tap Save to My Library to keep it on your own shelf for quick reference later. Your library follows your account, on any device.

- Do I need an account?
- You can browse the library freely. To identify plants and keep a saved library, sign in. It takes a few seconds with Google, Apple, or email, and your free identifications stay attached to your account.
- What's free, and what does Unlimited add?
- Free includes a set of plant identifications, the full 1,200+ plant library, and each plant's history, uses, and safety. Unlimited unlocks the traditional remedies and step-by-step preparations, the complete growing guide, and how to harvest, dry, and store every plant, plus unlimited identifications.
- How do I get the best identification?
- Take clear, well-lit photos and get close. A leaf close-up plus the flower and the whole plant, across a few shots, helps HerbLens tell similar species apart.
- Is this medical advice?
- No. HerbLens is educational: it shares traditional and historical uses, never a diagnosis or prescription. Never eat or apply a plant based on an app result alone, and talk to a qualified professional before using any plant medicinally.
